Sara Lazzaroni

PhD Student (Data Science)

Sapienza University of Rome

Hello everyone! My name is Sara Lazzaroni, and I am a Ph.D. student in Data Science at Sapienza University of Rome. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree and M.Sc. in Computer Science at Sapienza University of Rome, where I developed a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

My research interests lie in Generative AI, with a particular focus on Diffusion Models and their applications to language modeling. My work explores the capabilities, behavior, and limitations of generative models, with a particular interest in understanding how these models work and how they can be improved and controlled. My main research topics are Generative AI, Diffusion Models, Diffusion Language Models, and AI Safety.

When my mind needs a break from research, you’ll find me deep in a good book or playing volleyball with my team.
